On Saturday, February 17, 2024, at approximately 11:07 a.m., officers responded to a shooting incident in the 1500 block of Next Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year-old male who had sustained gunshot wounds on the roadway. Also, a 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old were discovered; initially, the injuries of the 18-year-old were considered life-threatening, but his condition was later updated to reflect a less severe condition. All victims were transported to the hospital, where the 20-year-old victim later died from his injuries.
The victim’s name will be released pending notification of next of kin. This is an active homicide investigation, and no further details will be disclosed at this time to maintain the integrity of the investigation.

***Update***
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Trenton Todd, 20, as the subject involved in the homicide that occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024. On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, officers arrested Trenton Todd and charged him with murder.
The victim in this case has been identified as Laguy Miller, 20.
