The Police and Civilian Krewe (P.A.C.K.) Challenge is a motorcycle skills competition for civilian and police riders. The competition allows civilian and police riders to compete on the same courses, and promotes rider training amongst civilian motorcycle enthusiasts.
It’s an event hosted by the Family of the Fallen, an organization dedicated to raising funds to support the families of fallen officers. The competition is set for Saturday, Oct. 20 at The Grounds, 1035 Cody Road North, with opening ceremony beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Officers from across the region and state are taking part in this valuable motorcycle skills training. The P.A.C.K. Challenge is designed to give the officers an opportunity to interact with civilian riders and the public in a non-law enforcement role. And, while showing off their riding skills in front of spectators, the officers can have some fun.
One of the first-year goals for the Family of the Fallen is to build a Mardi Gras float for the families of fallen officers to show them that they always will be part of the law enforcement family, and for all to know that the sacrifice of their loved ones will never be forgotten.
In addition to providing financial crisis relief, the organization also exists to provide small educational grants.
