Lineup of Project THRIVE Songwriters Performing at SouthSounds Music Fest

The lineup of the Project THRIVE Songwriter Competition winners to perform at the SouthSounds Music & Arts Festival has been determined. The seven winners will perform Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 3 p.m. in Cathedral Square.

Project THRIVE, led by the Mobile Police Department and with the support of partnering agencies, exists to make Mobile a trauma-informed community. For the first time, the efforts are by way of music. The winners appearing on stage will perform songs to help lift traumatized victims by giving them a message of healing, resiliency and triumph.

Taking the stage first in the lineup is Caitlin Sommerville of Gulf Shores, Ala. (Jazz), followed by Maura Hawkins of Orange Beach, Ala. (Pop), Kayla Patterson of Ellisville, Miss (Gospel), Damian “Dramatik” Gamble of Mobile, Ala. (Hip Hop), Laurie Anne Armour of Mobile, Ala. (Country), Stuart McNair of Mobile, Ala. (Americana/Folk), and last on stage is Kelsie Hancock of Mobile, Ala. (Rock).

Project THRIVE's participation in the SouthSounds Music & Arts Festival gives the Mobile Police Department and partnering agencies a unique platform to educate the citizens of Mobile on the adverse effects of trauma as well as the many resources available to help those experiencing trauma heal and recover. Several agencies will set up booths at Cathedral Square to provide information and assistance to anyone experiencing trauma. They include the University of South Alabama Psychology Department, University Hospital, Lifelines Family Counseling, The Bridge Inc., The Neighbor Center, AltaPointe, Mobile County Public School System, Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, and the Mobile Police Department Office of Strategic Initiatives.
