Apr 17th, 2017

More than 10 pounds of highly pure crystal methamphetamine bound for the local streets were seized in a sting operation early Sunday morning April 16 by the Mobile County Street Enforcement Narcotics Team. The drugs seized have a final street value of nearly half a million dollars.

During the course of the multi-month investigation, officers were able to gather intelligence on the workings of the drug trafficking organization responsible for importing the large quantities of crystal methamphetamine into Mobile and surrounding areas. Routes, vehicles and locations used to import the drugs were identified.

Adam Hanshew, 36, and 32-year-old Amanda Bagwell, both from southeast Mississippi, were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine. They are currently being held at Mobile County Metro Jail without bond pending a hearing.
