Mobile Police Arrest Homicide Suspect from Dauphin Street Shooting

On Sunday, September 11, 2011 at approximately 3:15 a.m., Mobile Police officers responded to the intersection of Dauphin and Jackson Streets in reference to shots fired. Officers found 26 year-old Darryl Antonio Casher shot in the chest. Casher was transported to Mobile Infirmary where he succumbed to his wounds.
Detectives were able to determine that Casher was killed during a dispute that started at Club Atlantis on Dauphin Street. Video surveillance from a street camera shows the altercation, the shooting and the arrival of officers approximately 15 seconds after shots were fired.
Also on September 11, 2011, 18 year-old Cedric Cortez Burroughs was identified as the shooter in this case. At 1:00 p.m., Burroughs was taken into custody at his home in Mobile and brought to Police Headquarters where he was arrested and charged with Murder.
