Mobile Police Arrest Rape Suspect

On Thursday, August 25, 2016, at approximately 1:28 a.m., officers responded to the 60 block South Royal Street for a report of One Sexually Assaulted.  The victim stated she met a male subject nicknamed “Silk” in the area.  She stated as they were walking by Fort Conde located at 150 South Royal Street, Silk armed himself with a knife and forced her to unwanted sexual contact.  The victim was transported to the hospital where a sexual assault examination was performed.

On Friday, February 10, 2017, at approximately 8:51 a.m., officers responded to The Salvation Army located at 1009 Dauphin Street for a report of One Sexually Assaulted.  The victim stated an unknown male subject she recently met offered her a place to stay.  The victim stated the subject led her to an abandon house in the area of Conti Street and Washington Avenue.  Once inside the residence the subject forced the victim to unwanted sexual contact.  The victim was transported to the hospital where a sexual assault examination was performed.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed 47-year-old Roger Lee McCreary as a possible suspect.  On Monday, February 13, 2017, McCreary was located, interviewed, arrested and charged with two counts of Rape First Degree.
