Mobile Police Conclude an Internal Investigation

On November 13, 2012 Mobile Police concluded an internal investigation involving Captain Dewayne Hill. The Mobile Police Department had received information from a confidential source that Captain Hill had improperly used a Visa Debit card without proper authorization.

The Internal Affairs Unit confirmed the accusation and Captain Hill opted to retire effective today in lieu of administrative sanctions.

Based on the investigation's findings, Captain Hill was found guilty of the following charges: Conduct Unbecoming, Unlawful Conduct and Violation of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics. All three are considered to be Major Violations.

The Mobile Police Department is in contact with the victim and criminal charges will be at the victim's discretion.
