Mobile Police Department Investigating Officer Involved Shooting

On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at approximately 1:35 p.m. officers of the Mobile Police Department were in the area of Live Oak Street at Persimmon Street for a report of drug activity in the area. Officers attempted to detain two suspects when a struggle ensued and suspect one, 23 year old Shawn Taylor, presented a weapon. The officer fired multiple times striking Taylor once in the buttocks. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. The second suspect was taken into custody, interviewed, and released.
Taylor has been arrested for No Pistol Permit, Attempting to Elude, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, and Certain Person Forbidden.
