Mobile Police Department Investigation Wreck With Injuries Involving Delayed Death

On Friday, April 18, 2014, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Officers responded to northbound I-65 between Highway 45 and Moffett Road for a wreck with injuries. The investigation revealed a red Dodge Durango driven by 66 year old Mary Smith Sullivan had a flat tire. As Sullivan was attempting to pull into the emergency lane the driver of a Chevrolet Express van struck her vehicle causing both vehicles to strike the retaining wall. Sullivan was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. Mobile Police Department was notified Mary Smith Sullivan died at the hospital.
