Mobile Police Department Warn of Phone Scam

Mar 27th, 2015

On March 27, 2015, Mobile Police became aware of a current telephone scam in which a person claiming to be a representative of the Mobile Police Department called a Mobile area resident stating the resident had unpaid tickets through the City of Mobile Municipal Court. The subject went on to state failure to pay the tickets over the telephone would result in the arrest of the victim.

Mobile area residents should be aware this is an illegal scam aimed at defrauding victims of money. Mobile Police are not in the practice of soliciting payments for fines over the telephone.

If you believe you have been a victim of this scam or if you have received a phone call of this nature, please call Mobile Police at (251) 208-7211.
