Mobile Police Investigate a Homicide on Cherry Street

On November 3, 2011 at 3:12 p.m., Mobile Police responded to the 900 block of Cherry Street for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he later died.

The investigation revealed that the deceased, 52 year-old Robert Lee Moorer, and 47 year-old Kermic Maiben, were involved in an altercation when the stabbing occurred. The Mobile County District Attorney's Office was consulted and advised the case would be presented to the Grand Jury.
