Mobile Police Investigate a Homicide on Congress Street (update)

On October 12, 2011 at approximately 4:40 p.m. Mobile Police responded to Congress Street and Ann Street for a report of a male shot in the street. Upon arrival, officers found 47 year old Kenny Roosevelt Hughes with apparent gunshot wounds. Hughes was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he later died.

Detectives have determined that 24 year old Dwayne Smith is responsible for the death of Kenny Hughes. Dwayne Smith turned himself into police headquarters today and has been arrested and charged with Murder.
