Mobile Police Investigate a Traffic Fatality on Airport Boulevard

On February 2, 2011 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Mobile Police responded to a report of a man struck by a vehicle at Airport Boulevard and Linlen Avenue. Upon the officers' arrival, they found 36 year old Jason Goocher with injuries after being struck by multiple vehicles. Mobile Fire Rescue responded and Goocher was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminary results of the investigation reveal that Jason Goocher stopped his vehicle on Airport Boulevard and for an unknown reason, started walking in the roadway. The first vehicle that struck Goocher was driven by 64 year old Mitchell Harris. Mr. Harris was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested and charged with DUI.
