Mobile Police Investigate a Traffic Fatality on Highway 90

On November 19, 2010 at approximately 6:15 a.m. officers responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 90 west bound at Willis road. Upon their arrival police located three vehicles and two pedestrians had been struck in the roadway. One pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary results of the investigation revealed that a silver Honda Accord entered the west bound lanes of Highway 90 from Willis Road, and collided with a Ford Explorer that was west bound on Highway 90. A second collision occurred when a Black Toyota Corolla also west bound on Highway 90 stuck the Honda Accord. Two pedestrians walked from a gas station to assist the driver of the silver Honda Accord. While the driver of the Explorer and the two pedestrians were assisting the driver of the Accord, the two pedestrians were struck by a Red Ford Pickup truck that was west bound on Highway 90. The pedestrian that was killed has been identified as 58 year old Girard Linier Crawford. Neither speed nor alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.
