Mobile Police Investigate a Traffic Fatality on I-65

On February 15, 2011 at 5: 20 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a report of a single vehicle wreck with injuries on Interstate 65 at Old Shell Road. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle had overturned. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene and a passenger was transported to Springhill Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary results of the investigation revealed the deceased female and driver of the vehicle has been identified as 32 year old Tameka Shanta Dumas from Mobile.
Detectives have determined that the vehicle was north bound on Interstate-65 when it struck the guardrail causing it to flip on its side.
