Mobile Police Investigate a Traffic Fatality on Spring Hill Avenue

On September 4, 2011 at approximately 4:00 a.m. Mobile Police responded to a traffic crash with injuries on Spring Hill Avenue at Upham Street. Upon arrival officers found a single vehicle crash and multiple people with injuries. Four people were transported to hospitals and the driver was pronounced dead at Mobile Infirmary from his injuries.

Preliminary results of the investigation reveal the deceased driver has been identified as Dataurius Nurell Parker from Lucedale Mississippi. Parker appears too have lost control of the vehicle while traveling west on Spring Hill and struck a light pole at Upham Street. The three passengers of the vehicle were transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center with serious injuries. Detectives have determined that none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts and wet conditions appear to be a factor in the crash.
