Mobile Police Investigate a Traffic Fatality on St. Stephens Road

On September 19, 2010 at approximately 1:45 a.m. officers responded to St. Stephens Road at Mott Drive North for a report of a single vehicle wreck with injuries. Upon their arrival, officers found a 2002 Mercury Sable overturned. A 48 year old female was able to exit the vehicle without injury, and 60 year old James Golston of Mobile was transported to Mobile Infirmary Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary findings of the investigation revealed that James Golston was driving north on St. Stephens Road when he lost control and struck a utility pole. Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
