Mobile Police Investigate Robbery, Vehicle Pursuit, Fatality

On June 15, 2013, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the victim contacted Mobile Police and stated a female subject struck him and took his property, including his vehicle. The vehicle was last seen on Bloodgood Street.

Mobile Police officers observed the vehicle minutes later in the area of Government and Broad Streets. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver refused to stop. Officers became engaged in a pursuit traveling to Government Street at Dauphin Island Parkway, where the driver struck a tree. The driver, Edna Harris III (DOB: 03/31/1997) was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. Harris was the only occupant in the vehicle.
