Mobile Police Investigate Traffic Fatality Involving Sheriff’s Deputy

Dec 11th, 2014

On December 11, 2014, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a crash involving a Deputy Sheriff from the Mobile County Sheriff's Office and another vehicle. The crash happened in the northbound lane of Rangeline Road, just north of Hamilton Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a silver Ford Mustang, 55 year-old Dean Frank Lisenba of Mobile, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of traffic when he collided head-on with the Deputy Sheriff's vehicle. Lisenba was pronounced dead on the scene and the Deputy Sheriff was transported to University of South Alabama Medical Center where he was treated and released. The result of the crash was not due to a pursuit by the Sheriff's Office.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
