Mobile Police Investigate Two Fatalities

On April 27, 2013 at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of St. Francis Street at N. Bayou Street for a report of a bicyclist struck by a car. Officers arrived to discover an unidentified, deceased male unconscious in the street. He was pronounced dead on the scene  


The investigation revealed the deceased subject was riding his bicycle in the area of Springhill Avenue and St. Francis Street when he was struck on St. Francis Street. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 28 year-old Alexander Graf. Graf was arrested and charged with DUI and Vehicular Homicide.


Victim identification is pending, upon family notification.

On April 28, 2013, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a traffic crash involving two motorcycles on Interstate 65 near Bay Bridge Road. When they arrived, they found a 30 year-old male lying in the southbound lanes. Mobile Fire Rescue responded and pronounced him dead on scene.  


Investigation revealed the motorcycle driven by the deceased was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control.  A motorcycle driven by another subject was behind him and struck the victim's motorcycle as it slid across his path. The second driver suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to USAMC. 


Victim identification is pending, upon family notification.
