Mobile Police Investigate Wallace Tunnel Fatality

**Name of the deceased will be released pending family notification**

On Saturday, December 29, 2012, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a multiple vehicle crash on eastbound I-10 at the Wallace Tunnel entrance. Traffic Investigators determined the crash involved five dump trucks, one SUV, one pick up truck and one motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and four passengers of the SUV were transported to Mobile Infirmary for evaluation for non life-threatening injuries.

The eastbound entrance of Wallace Tunnel was blocked and it was also determined that an unknown amount of fuel had leaked.  Hazardous Materials responded for clean up. 

The Wallace Tunnel was reopened at 7:50 a.m.

Mobile Police Traffic Investigators will continue investigating this crash.
