Mobile Police Make Arrest in Sex Abuse Cases

On December 23, 2014, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Mobile Police responded to the 5600 block of Old Pascagoula Road for a report of sexual abuse. The juvenile female victim stated she and her sister walked to a nearby gas station from their residence. On their way home, they were approached by an unknown male driving a Ford Mustang. The male got out of his vehicle and sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the area.

On December 30, 2014, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a sexual abuse call at the Chevron Station at 1300 Government Street. The female victim advised she pulled up and went inside the gas station when she saw an unknown male in a Ford Mustang parked near her car. The victim stated when she came out and was getting back into her car, the subject sexually assaulted her.

During the investigation, 22 year-old Daniel Rendon of Mobile was identified as the suspect in both cases. Rendon was located and taken into custody without incident. He is charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse First Degree.
