Jan 28th, 2015
On January 28, 2015, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Mobile Police responded to Winn-Dixie at 5440 Highway 90 in reference to shots fired at the location. A description of the suspected vehicle was broadcast to officers in the area. An officer spotted the vehicle at the intersection of Rangeline and Halls Mill Roads and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle attempted to elude officers but wrecked and became immobile at 4260 Halls Mill Road. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody on the scene.
Further investigation revealed the subjects, 45 year-old Lewis Andrew Bray and 33 year-old Otto Hendrik Horsting, were in possession of firearms, ammunition, jewelry, knives and a safe. These items were taken during a burglary committed by Bray and Horsting earlier in the day to a residence at the 5500 block of McDonald Road where a fire had also been set.
Bray and Horsting were arrested and charged with Burglary First Degree, Arson Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment and Attempting to Elude.
