Mobile Police Make Narcotics Arrest on Maryknoll Drive from CrimeStopper’s Tip

On April 30, 2012, Mobile Police Narcotics Unit responded to a CrimeStopper's complaint at the 6400 block of Maryknoll Drive in reference to poppy plants being cultivated in the back yard of the residence for drug use.
When officers arrived on scene, they observed over 250 poppy plants which had been scored for manufacturing opium, a controlled substance. Officers also discovered approximately 10 grams of finished opium inside the home as well as other drug paraphernalia. The total value of the poppy plants and opium seized is approximately $15,000.
