Feb 10th, 2014

On February 7, 2014, Mobile Police conducted a search warrant at the 400 block of Mohawk Street in reference to several residential burglaries. Police recovered a large amount of jewelry and watches. Police also recovered electronics, computers and camera equipment.

Daniel Roy Diaz, 29 years-old, was arrested as a result of this and other search warrants where large amounts of similar items were recovered from multiple residential burglaries. Diaz has been charged with Burglary Third Degree, Receiving Stolen Property Third Degree and Illegal Possession of a Prescription. More charges are expected for Diaz as well as additional arrests for others involved in these burglaries.

Police have been able to return most of the stolen items to the victims of the burglaries. However, police are asking citizens who live in the Government Street, Azalea Road and Demetropolis Road areas who may have been burglarized since October 2013 to call (251) 208-7211.

Anyone with information in regards to these burglaries is also asked to call Mobile Police.
