Mobile Police Officer Involved in Domestic-Related Shooting

On April 9, 2015, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 6400 block of Victoria Place for a report of a domestic shooting. The victim, an off-duty Mobile police officer, stated her former boyfriend arrived at her residence and began forcefully trying to gain entry. While officers were en route to the location, the subject was able to enter the residence by breaking down a door. Once the subject was inside her home, the victim fired several shots at the subject, striking him once in the leg.

Anthony Javoris Robinson, 24 years old, was transported to U. S. A. Medical Center where he was treated for a non life-threatening injury. He was then transferred to Metro Jail and charged with Domestic Violence Second Degree and Harassing Communications.

Per standard operating procedure, a joint criminal and internal investigation into the officer's actions is being conducted.
