Mobile Police Officers Assist a Family in Need

Three Mobile Police Officers recognized a family struggling to maneuver a wheelchair up and down some stairs at a residence on Dauphin Island Parkway and decided it was time to step in and help out. On October 12th Corporal Jeff Hilburn, Officer Damian Colvin, Officer Bezell Westbrook, and Gary Hilburn built this family a wheelchair ramp to the front door of their house at no cost to the family.

The $300.00 of supplies needed to build the ramp where donated by Gary Hilburn and his company Modern Woodman of America. After the project was complete and the family was so appreciative of the effort, Corporal Hilburn stated "It made us feel good especially after we saw just how much it really helped the family."
