Mobile Police Strictly Enforcing Entertainment District Ordinances for Fourth of July Events

Jul 2nd, 2018

The downtown area in the City of Mobile has numerous events planned in celebration of the Fourth of July. To ensure a fun and safe environment for all, we would like to bring attention to the city’s ordinances regarding the entertainment district.

The Mobile Police Department will be strictly enforcing ordinances relating to underage drinking and alcohol consumption within the entertainment district. Parents and legal guardians need to be aware of Mobile City Code Ordinance Section 39-261 (1) b which prohibits minors under the age of 18 in the entertainment district from 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Minors remaining after 10:00 p.m. will be detained at a designated location and will only be released to a parent or legal guardian.

For more information concerning permissible activities within the entertainment district, see City Code Ordinance Section 13-30.
