Mobile Police to Host 31st Annual National Night Out, Crime Prevention 5K

On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, Mobile Police will once again host National Night Out, a FREE family fun event starting at 5:45 p.m., lasting until 9:00 p.m. at Bel Air Mall, East entrance by Target. The celebration is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness as well as generate support for and recruit participation in local anti-crime programs.

Entertainment and information provided during the event will include:

- Identification Unit
- Project Care for Seniors
- Homes Safety Demonstration
- Mobile Police K-9 Unit Demonstration
- Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) demonstration
- How to start a Neighborhood Watch

Over 50 vendors will be present at the event and door prizes will be awarded during the evening. Masters of Ceremony will be WKRG's Mel Showers and Rose Ann Haven.

The Mobile Police Department will also be hosting the Crime Prevention 5K Run/Walk through downtown Mobile starting at 6:30 p.m.
