The Mobile Police Department has tracked down and arrested its most wanted fugitive connected to a sexual assault and burglary that happened on Christmas Day. For two weeks, 50-year-old Todd Overstreet has been on the run.
Today, January 12, 2021, Overstreet was spotted by a police officer and captured while he was walking in the area of Cody Road North near 5th Street.
The incident that occurred on Christmas Day took place in the Country Club Village area of Mobile at approximately 7:30 that night. Overstreet broke into the victim’s home while she was away and upon her return, he approached her armed with a gun and sexually assaulted her. Through items recovered at the scene, Overstreet was positively identified as the suspect.
Investigators connected Overstreet to several burglaries, and he will face a string of charges. Here are the locations, the date when the crime happened and the charges.
