Movie in the Park at Mardi Gras Park

Oct 13th, 2017

Its back by popular demand – “Movie in the Park” presented by the Mobile Police Department! Pack a chair and blanket, and bring the entire family to Mardi Gras Park Saturday, Oct. 21st at 5:30 p.m. The fantasy, science fiction film “Wonder Woman” will be showing on the big screen at dusk. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free.

The family-centered entertainment gives MPD the opportunity to strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the community. Before movie showtime, families will enjoy a host of fun activities.

Our Movie in Park event benefits Isaiah and Aubreigh. Isaiah, newborn son of MPD public safety dispatcher, was born with encephalocele, a neural tube defect. Aubreigh, daughter of a MFRD captain, has been diagnosed with DIPG, a rare form of brain cancer. During the event, $5 food plates will be sold at Cooper Riverside Park. All proceeds from plate sales will be donated to the families to help with medical expenses.

The event fundraiser is supported by the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department and Quest-Con (www.quest-con.com). Quest-Con is a multi-genre convention of gaming and cosplay held at the Mobile Convention Center Oct. 20th – 22nd.
