MPD Caught and Arrested Hancock Bank Robber

The Mobile Police Department has arrested 39-year-old Joseph Canidate for committing the robbery this morning at the Hancock Bank located at 2110 Demetropolis Road.

The robbery happened at approximately 10:30 a.m. The suspect was armed and wore a devil's mask during the robbery. He fled the bank with about $38,000, leaving some of the money in the street.

Officers responded to the call, set up a perimeter, and were able to catch this suspect within 26 minutes from the time of the call of a robbery in progress.

Canidate is charged with Robbery First Degree.
