MPD CLASS 39

A 27-member police officer recruit class is scheduled to graduate from the Mobile Police Department Training Academy at 2:00 p.m. on October 14, 2008, at the Baker Gaines campus of Bishop State Community College, located at 1365 Dr. Martin Luther King Avenue.

In addition to nine new Mobile Police Officers, Tuesday's graduating class includes officers from the police departments of Dauphin Island, Atmore, Prichard, Daphne, State of Alabama Department of Pardons & Parole, Foley, Chatom, Faulkner State Community College and the Mobile Airport Police Department.

An Academic, Firearms, Physical Agility and Chief's Award will be presented to recruits who stand out among their peers. Following the graduation ceremony, 18 officers will return to their respective departments and the other nine will begin serving the City of Mobile.

The next MPD training class is scheduled to begin January 20, 2009, and Regional training is scheduled to begin February 03, 2009.
