MPD K9 Officer Placed Second in U.S. Canine Biathlon

Out of 300 handler-canine teams competing in the 2016 U.S. Canine Biathlon, MPD Corporal Patrick McKean and his dog Oscar earned second place in the law enforcement division.

McKean and Oscar also took sixth place in the overall male category and ninth place overall.

The 5K event consisted of 15 purpose built obstacles and 10 water obstacles. It was held May 21, 2016 at AMK9, a 320-acre training facility in Anniston, Alabama.

MPD Officer Darlene Looney also competed with her personal dog Funky.

Looney and Funky placed third in the law enforcement division, third in the overall women category and placed 10th overall.
