NARCOTICS INVESTIGATORS CONDUCT SEARCH WARRANTS IN ROGER WILLIAMS HOUSING COMMUNITY

File Number: 09-03- Narcotics Search Warrants in Roger Williams Housing Community

On March 19, 2009 at approximately 0625 hours, Mobile Police Narcotics Investigators along with assistance from members of the Tactical Response and Jaguar Units conducted search warrants at various residences located within the Roger Williams Housing Community. The search warrants uncovered and revealed illegal narcotic activity. Several individuals were arrested and charged with various drug related offenses. The following is a list of individuals arrested during this operation.

M09-03-03285 — A search warrant was conducted at a residence located in the 400 block of St. Charles Avenue. Melvina English (DOB: 01/27/73) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Ecstasy), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. During the search officers seized two (2) plastic bags containing twenty-six (26) ecstasy pills (street value: $750.00), marijuana grinder, and undisclosed U.S. Currency.

M09-03-03287 — A search warrant was conducted at a residence located in the 1700 block of Brazier Drive West. Marion Boman (DOB: 06/13/83) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and an active warrant for Domestic Violence 3rd Degree. Denisha Stewart (DOB: 02/18/88) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana First Degree and an active warrant for Harassment. Patrick Johnson (DOB: 08/08/89) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree. During the search officers seized ninety-eight (98) plastic bags containing marijuana which weighed approximately two (2) ounces (street value: $500.00).

M09-03-03286 — A search warrant was conducted at a residence located in the 1700 block of Brazier Drive North. Marian Oliver (DOB: 10/07/88) was arrested for Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Ecstasy), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and an active warrant for Loitering for the Purpose Drug Activity. During the search Officers seized two (2) ounces of marijuana (street value: $200.00) and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

M09-03-03288 — A search warrant was conducted at a residence located in the 300 block of Brazier Drive North. Tenereo Rowser (DOB: 12/25/87) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rowser also had two (2) active warrants; one for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and the second for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree. During the search Officers seized eighteen (18) ounces of marijuana (street value: $1,800.00), and a digital scale.

M09-03-03292 — An additional search was conducted at a residence located in the 400 block of St. Charles Avenue. Yosha Populus, (DOB: 01/02/85) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jeremy Robinson (DOB: 02/27/82) was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and a warrant for Negotiating a Worthless Instrument. During the search, Officers seized five (5) grams of cocaine, two (2) grams of marijuana, Pyrex with cocaine residue, a digital scale with cocaine residue, a cigarette containing marijuana, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
