Police Investigate a Homicide on Louise Drive West

On October 27, 2009 at 6:30 PM Mobile Police responded to the 700 block of Louise Drive West in response to a burglary in progress. Upon officer's arrival, they discovered 29 year old man lying at the end of the drive way with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Mobile Fire Rescue responded to the location and transported the man to USA Medical Center where he later died.

Mobile Police Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The preliminary finding of the investigation reveal that the female resident returned home at approximately 6:30 PM and while in her house, the man was waiting for her arrival. The burglar jumped out of a closet, and after a struggle the female shot the suspect one time in the chest with a Cobra .380. The investigators also discovered that the female and the deceased had a dating relationship that had ended approximately four years ago, and there was a history of domestic violence.

Police have not made all of the necessary notifications to the deceased family, and his name will be released after family has been notified.
