POLICE INVESTIGATE A ROBBERY AND HOMICIDE

On May 4, 2009 at 2:50 PM police responded to the Cash and Dash located at 5646 Old Pascagoula Rd. for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival police were able to determine that a robbery had occurred at that location. Police had also received a call in reference to shots being fired during the incident. The responding officers located a male subject with apparent gunshot wounds in a parking lot near the store where the robbery had occurred. The subject was declared deceased at the scene. Police also had a subject detained at the Super 8 Motel in Tillmans Corner Parkway.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The preliminary investigations suggest the deceased subject was a suspect in the robbery. Investigators have not determined who fired the weapon that killed the suspect, what role the deceased man or the detained suspect had in the robbery.
