Police Investigate a Robbery Homicide

On February 20, 2010 at 2:35 AM Mobile Police were flagged down at Franklin Street and Saint Francis Street for a report of one shot. The officer found one victim with an apparent gunshot wound in a parking lot. Mobile Fire Department responded and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mobile Police Homicide unit responded to the scene to begin an investigation. Detectives have identified the deceased victim as 19 year old Dangelio Williams. Preliminary findings of the investigation reveal that Williams and a second man were walking when they were approached by two black males. One of the men produced a handgun and demanded money from the victims. Mr. Williams began to struggle with one of the suspects until the suspect shot him.

Investigators began gathering evidence from the scene, and are trying to determine if there are any witnesses to the incident. This investigation will continue, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
