Police Investigate Officer Involved Shooting

On October 28, 2011 at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers were attempting to apprehend a subject with a felony warrant at 1914 Government Street. The subject fled the scene on foot and officers gave pursuit. The subject confronted the officer while armed with a knife. The officer fired his weapon, striking the subject in the abdomen.

The subject was transferred to USA Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Mobile Police will continue to investigate this incident.
