POLICE MAKE MULTIPLE ARRESTS IN BURGLARY RING

On January 1, 2009, Mobile Police began a task-force investigation with officers from the department's F.A.S.T. (Felony Apprehension Street Team) and investigators from the First Precinct in reference to numerous burglaries that had occurred throughout various areas in the Precinct.

The task force focused on areas located within the areas of Brooke, Windsor, and Delta Streets. Detectives were previously in the process of investigating numerous burglary incidents that had occurred throughout these areas dating back to January 2008.

The 2 month long investigation by detectives and officers yielded tremendous results. Arrests began to unfold approximately three weeks ago revealing information corroborating the involvement of numerous suspects and their participation in other offenses linked to this investigation.

15 individuals (including 12 juveniles and 3 adults) were arrested on a total of 76 felony charges. The twelve juveniles involved in these incidents ages range from 14-16 years of age. The adult participants have been identified as Henry Irby (age 20) charged with 5 counts of Burglary Third Degree, and Poshina Harris (female, age 31) and Tantrell Davidson (age 23) both charged with Possession of Marijuana First Degree, Receiving Stolen Property First Degree, and Receiving Stolen Property Second Degree.

The investigation revealed that the individuals arrested were all involved in a burglary ring where the participants would commit the burglaries, obtain property and sell the merchandise on the street for various prices. Throughout the course of the investigation, police recovered approximately $11,000 worth of stolen merchandise with items including, but not limited to: one 12 gauge shotgun, a .380 semi-automatic handgun, marijuana (packaged to sell), four large flat-screen televisions, 4 Microsoft X box game stations and numerous games, 1 Nintendo Wii game station, 1 laptop computer, a GPS system, and various other electronic equipment.

A total of 86 Burglary cases were cleared throughout the city. 76 residential burglaries were cleared in the First Precinct, 6 residential burglaries were cleared in the Third Precinct, and 2 residential burglaries were cleared in the Second Precinct. One vehicle burglary was cleared in the Fourth Precinct and an additional vehicle burglary was cleared in the Fifth Precinct.
