SECOND UNDERAGE DRINKING OPERATION IN THREE DAYS

On October 01, 2008, Mobile Police conducted an underage drinking operation to ensure businesses were complying with the law by not selling alcohol to minors. Twelve businesses were checked, two of the twelve businesses were not in compliance with the law. However, all other businesses were in compliance.

The businesses in Compliance were:

M & D Coin Laundry, 7301 Bellingrath Road--Winn Dixie # 572, 5440 Highway 90

Theodore Exxon Express, 5891 Highway 90--Com-Pac Food Store 7000 Three Notch Rd

RC Quick Stop, 5880 Highway 90--Rangeline Chevron, 5225 Rangeline Road

Shell Food Mart #147 5809 Highway 90--Com-Pac Food Store, 4426 Higgins Road

Rite Aid # 7190, 5440 Highway 90--Southern Liquors, 5440 Highway 90

The businesses not in compliance were:

Bubba Package Store, 5883 Highway 90 and Sears Essentials #1, 5451 Halls Mill Road. An employee at each location checked the identification prior to selling alcohol to the undercover customer but sold the alcohol. Warrants are expected to be signed today against the business employees for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
