SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE ROBBERIES

On February 14, 2009 at approximately 2:40 A.M., Mobile Police responded to a report of a robbery/ kidnapping. The victim (adult male, 23) advised police that he was driving his vehicle near the intersection of Bay Bridge Road and Interstate I-165 when he was approached by three black male subjects. One subject was armed with a shotgun and the other two were armed with handguns. The subjects entered the victim's vehicle and forced him to drive to Dr. Thomas Avenue where he was searched and forced to remove his clothing. The subjects then forced the victim inside the trunk of the vehicle and drove around to various areas. The victim was able to escape from the trunk of the vehicle by utilizing the emergency trunk release. The suspects continued to flee in the victim's vehicle.

Robbery Detectives were notified and responded to the scene to investigate this incident. Investigation has revealed the identity of the suspects involved in this incident. These individuals are a 15 year old male juvenile who was charged with Robbery First Degree and Kidnapping, Derrel Jones (adult male, age 20) and Shannon Jackson (adult male, age 23). Jones and Jackson have also been charged with Robbery and Kidnapping First Degree in connection with this case.

On February 16, 2009 at approximately 12:00 A.M. Mobile Police responded to a report of a robbery that occurred in the area of Dr. Thomas Avenue. The victim (adult male, 34) advised police that he was driving his vehicle in the area of Dr. Thomas Avenue when he was approached by three black male subjects. One subject was armed with a handgun and demanded the keys to the victim's vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle and fled from the suspects on foot with the keys to the vehicle in his possession. The suspects did not take the victim's vehicle during this incident.

Robbery Detectives responded to the scene and investigated this incident. Investigation has revealed the identity of one participant in this crime as Derrel Jones, (adult male, age 20). Jones was arrested and charged with Robbery First Degree in connection with this case. The identities of the other participants involved in this incident are continuously being pursued by investigators.

On February 20, 2009 at approximately 11:45 P.M. Mobile Police responded to a report of a robbery that occurred in the area of Herman Drive and Bishop Avenue. The victim (adult male, 19) advised police that he was stopped near the intersection when four black male subjects approached his vehicle demanding him to exit the car. One subject was armed with a handgun and the subjects physically removed the victim from inside of the vehicle. The subjects fled the scene in the victim's vehicle.

Robbery Detectives responded to the scene to investigate this incident. Investigation has revealed the identity of three of the individuals involved in this incident. These individuals are a 15 year old juvenile male who was charged with Robbery First Degree, Derrel Jones (adult male, age 20) and Shannon Jackson (adult male, age 23). Both Jones and Jackson have also been charged with Robbery First Degree in connection with this case. (The 15 year old juvenile subject arrested is the same individual arrested in the robbery that occurred at Bay Bridge Road and I-165). The identity of the other participant involved in this incident is continuously being pursued by investigators.

Each vehicle taken during these incidents has been recovered by police. Neither victim sustained injuries during these incidents.

Police are asking media outlets to not display the photographs of either suspect charged in connection with these cases due to ongoing investigative efforts by detectives. Police will notify all media outlets when the photographs of these individuals can be displayed to the public.
