The Mobile Police Department recently conducted an underage drinking compliance check on four locations within the police jurisdiction. On Aug. 15, 2024, two local businesses were caught selling alcohol to minors.
Fulton Food Mart (1288 Dauphin Island Parkway) and West Mobile Liquor (2502 Schillinger Road South Suite 7) sold alcohol to an approved minor operative without properly identifying the minor.
The state ABC board was notified and will take further action. Warrants will also be signed on both store employees.
The other two establishments found in compliance with the state ABC standards were Snow Road Food Mart (9850 Airport Blvd.) and K&S Convenience (1120 Springhill Ave.).
The MPD Underage Drinking Detail is responsible for performing compliance checks throughout the year. For each underage drinking operation, the businesses are randomly selected and includes those where complaints have been received.
