MCSENT Makes Significant Spice Arrest

On May 9, 2014, officers of the Mobile County Street Enforcement Narcotics Team (MCSENT) arrested 33 year-old Tamer S. Foqahaa at a Mobile storage unit as part of an ongoing drug operation. Foqahaa was in possession of almost 200 pounds of assorted, pre-packaged Marijuana Analog, or Spice. The street value of this Spice, which was being kept at Public Storage at 664 Azalea Road, is approximately $614,000.

Foqahaa is charged with Trafficking of Illegal Drugs and is currently in Metro Jail, being held with no bond.

"This is the single most significant threat to the health and safety of the public since the crack cocaine epidemic that began in the 1980s," said Chief James Barber. "This is not only a health threat — we are seeing systemic issues of significant violent crimes in relation to the use of Spice."

Police will continue their investigation into this operation. Anyone with information about the use or sale of Spice should contact Mobile Police Intel at (251) 208-7000 or text to CRIMES (274637) and include the keyword CRIME 411.
