Apr 29th, 2016

During the National Reentry Week Event in Mobile on April 29, 2016, U.S. Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch (pictured right) visited the city to recognize Kenyan Brown (left), U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of Alabama, and Mobile Chief of Police James Barber (center) with an award for their efforts in designing second chance programs for former prison inmates and nonviolent street-level drug dealers on the verge of going to prison.

The Justice Department designated National Reentry Week as a way for each U.S. Attorney's Office around the country could coordinate reentry events such as meetings between local reentry stakeholders, reentry court proceedings, employer roundtables and other events to raise awareness about the importance of reentry work. https://www.justice.gov/opa/blog/national-reentry-week
