The Mobile Police Department has named William English as the Civilian Employee of the Month for October 2024. English, who serves as an Office Assisant II in the Records Department Warrants Detail, is recognized for his excellent performance of duty.
The Warrants Detail is a very demanding unit that requires 24/7 maintenance in executing and entering warrants, NCIC entry of stolen guns and serialized articles as well as validating missing person entry, responding to Metro Jail for turn in suspects, and handling calls from dispatchers to verify warrants.
English verified 203 warrants in October. He entered over 47 guns into NCIC and corrected 20 errors of entered warrants from the court. Due to two vacancies, English provided the extra coverage for the Warrants Detail. Even on his normal work day, which is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., English would extend his hours to 11 a.m. to assist with fulfilling state compliance requirements and FBI rules. English was always willing and ready to help out.
According to his supervisor, English is described as professional and someone who exemplifies a humble spirit with respect to his job and peers.
