POLICE APPREHEND SUSPECT SOUGHT IN MANHUNT

On December 18, 2008 at approximately 3:48 P.M. Detectives from the Second Precinct were canvassing the area of Tillman's Corner in search of suspect Christopher Shane Gordon. Gordon was being sought in reference to several reports of vehicle thefts and vehicle burglaries in the Second Precinct area. Gordon was also being sought for fourteen active Probation Revocation warrants out of Mobile County.

While canvassing the area, detectives spotted Gordon in the area of Mitsubishi Lane and Degussa Road occupying a white GMC Sonoma pickup that had been previously reported stolen. As detectives attempted to catch up to Gordon, he fled from the vehicle on foot into the wooded area of Carol Plantation Road and Williams Road.

Officers from the Mobile Police Department set up a perimeter in an effort to locate Gordon. Officers were assisted by deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff's Department and members of the Alabama State Troopers Department. The search for Gordon continued until approximately 7:00 P.M. in an unsuccessful effort of locating him.

On December 19, 2008 at approximately 11:00 A.M. police dispatch received a call of a suspicious male looking into vehicles in the 4700 block of Hamilton Blvd. Detectives from the Second Precinct and Mobile County Sheriff Deputies quickly converged to the area and were able to apprehend the individual who was identified as suspect Christopher Shane Gordon.

Gordon was transported to the Second Precinct and was subsequently booked into Metro Jail for four counts of Receiving Stolen Property First Degree and two counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. In addition to the aforementioned charges, Gordon was also booked on the fourteen additional Probation Revocation warrants out of Mobile County.
