POLICE ARREST DOLLAR STORE ROBBERY SUSPECT

On July 9, 2009 at 9:45 AM police arrested Monya Tyrese Thomas for four commercial robberies. Thomas is responsible for four robberies that occurred at dollar stores in Mobile. Monya Thomas would enter the store, and act as if he was going to purchase items from the store, when he would then produce a gun, demand money, and leave with cash from the store.

During the investigation detectives were able to identify Monya Thomas as the suspect in these robberies and located him this morning at a residence on Flint Street in Mobile. Thomas was then arrested, interviewed by detectives and is charged with four counts of Robbery first Degree.

Detectives will continue to investigate these crimes and more information will be release as it becomes available.
