POLICE ARREST SUSPECTS FOR MULTIPLE ROBBERIES

On July 15, 2009 at approximately 2:00 AM officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Hollywood Theater on Satchel Paige Drive. While investigating the occupants of the vehicle, Police discovered a stolen handgun equipped with a laser sight. This weapon has been used in several robberies to individuals around Mobile, and had been reported stolen from a vehicle burglary at Bo jangles Restaurant on Azalea Road on July 6, 2009.

These robberies occurred at the 800 block of Holcombe Avenue on July 9, 2009, behind the Mellow Mushroom Restaurant located on Airport Boulevard on July 13, 2009, Chantilly's on Airport Boulevard on July 10, 2009, and outside the Blues Tavern on July 12, 2009.

The Two suspects are eighteen year old Calvin Young and twenty-one year old Jarvis Mix. Young has been charged with four counts of Robbery First Degree and Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle. Mix has been charged with Robbery First Degree.

Detectives will continue to investigate these crimes and will determine if more charges will be filed, and if any other suspects are involved. Further information will be release as it becomes available.
