Police Arrest Two Suspects for a Bank Robbery

On November 23, 2009 at approximately 10:00 AM Mobile Police responded to the First Community Bank located 5229 Cottage Hill Road for a report of a Bank Robbery. Upon their arrival police discovered a black male entered the bank and handed the teller a note indicating he was armed with a gun and demanded money. The suspect was able leave with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank and was last seen running on Oak Terrace Drive.

Robbery Detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. While investigating the incident, officers observed a man matching the description in the area of Oklahoma Dr and Old Shell Road. Officers secured a perimeter and by a combined effort with Mobile Police and the US Marshals Regional Task Force, officers were able to apprehend Saifuddin Abdul Mutadin Alston, and Antonio Winston. Detectives have determined that they are responsible for the bank robbery.

Investigators are continuing the investigation of a bank robbery that occurred earlier this month. On Monday, November 9, 2009 at approximately 9:25 AM, an unknown black male subject entered the Compass Bank at 3959 Government Boulevard. The subject approached the teller, held his hand in his pocket implying that he was armed with a weapon, and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied and surrendered an undisclosed amount of money to the subject. He then fled the scene, southbound through the parking lot towards Azalea Road. Through the investigation detectives have determined that Saifuddin Abdul Mutadin Alston is responsible for this robbery.



Saifuddin Abdul Mutadin Alston has been arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery First Degree and Antonio Winston has been charged with Robbery First Degree. The investigation in these two incidents will continue and further information will provided as it becomes available.
